Our Wedgwood project gutted the primary bedroom and bathroom together. The tile is what people notice: it runs from the floor to the vanity wall to the porcelain shower walls, under twin arched mirrors, with the tub set into a veined slab surround behind glass.
What We See in Wedgwood Houses
Wedgwood went up in twenty years and it shows. Nearly the whole neighborhood was built between 1950 and 1975, a thousand houses in the 1950s and another thousand in the 1960s, on wide flat lots averaging 84 by 137 feet. The stock is consistent rather than mixed, so the bathrooms tend to share the same problems. Houses of this age carry the usual postwar list behind the walls, cast-iron drains among it, and we check what is back there before we price the job, because it moves a budget more than square footage does.
The older-home plumbing guideThe Bathrooms Wedgwood Asks Us For
Primary suites are the biggest job we take here, usually where the bedroom and bath are being redone at once. Primary baths on their own are the common version of that. Hall and kids baths matter in a neighborhood of houses built to a handful of layouts, where one shared bathroom down the hall is doing all the work.

Why Wedgwood Homeowners Choose Us
A postwar house rewards being opened up carefully rather than quickly. We put the plumbing and the panel on the drawing before demolition, so the budget you agree to already has the old pipe in it. Cost-plus billing means you see what we paid for it either way.

Bathroom Remodel Questions in Wedgwood

Schedule a Free ConsultationShould I expect to replace plumbing?
Often some of it. Houses built in the fifties and sixties carry cast-iron drains that are near the end of their service life whether or not you remodel, and a job that opens the walls is the cheapest time to deal with them.
Can the bedroom and the bathroom be done at the same time?
Yes, and that is how our Wedgwood project went. Doing both at once is usually less disruptive than two separate jobs, and it lets the millwork and the tile be drawn as one set of decisions.
