Dark vanities with white tops line a wood-look floor that leads to a sage herringbone tile shower in the Overton Park primary bath

Overton Park Tub-to-Shower Conversion

A walk-in shower with a bench where the tub used to be, the vanity repainted Iron Ore and topped in white quartz, and the layout kept largely as it was.

The Project

It started with a leak. These returning clients in Overton Park found one in their primary bath and decided that if the room was coming apart anyway, it should come back better. Their house is a pier-and-beam Colonial, and the bathroom needed to fit the age and style of the house.

Most of the layout stayed. The dated tub came out and a walk-in shower took its place: a bench, two niches, frameless glass, and a linear drain, with sage-green herringbone tile on the walls and large-format penny tile underfoot. The existing vanity was repainted in Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore and topped with white quartz. Wood-look tile runs across the floor, brushed nickel fixtures tie the metals together, and a pair of statement mirrors finish the wall.

This was a Design Classic job. Our design team handled the finish selections, the shower layout, and 3D color renderings so the homeowners could see the room before demolition. Understated on purpose, and built for a house they intend to keep.
