A 1990s primary bath taken back to the studs and rebuilt around a green herringbone shower with a zero-entry threshold. Construction by us, design by the clients' own designer.

The Project

This primary bath in Mira Vista had all the marks of the 1990s: faux-Tuscan wall texture, a glass block wall, corners that met at odd angles, and lighting that made the room feel smaller than it was. The homeowners hired an outside designer for the vision and brought us in to build it.

We took the room down to the studs. Plumbing moved to fit the new layout, the lighting was refreshed, and every surface came back new. The shower is the anchor: green herringbone tile running wall to wall and a zero-entry threshold with no curb to step over.

Fluted cabinetry, gold hardware, and a freestanding soaking tub finish the room. It was a smooth process start to finish, and a good example of how a builder and an outside designer can work the same job.
